Terms of Use

Last updated: June 1, 2026 (v1.29)

These Terms of Use govern access to and use of the HearYourself app.

1. Developer

HearYourself is developed by:
ForgeLabs Systems
Contact: contact@forgelabs.systems

2. App purpose

HearYourself is intended as a low-latency live vocal monitor tool with built-in studio-style voice effects (compressor, de-esser, shimmer reverb, doubler), 14 vocal style presets, a three-band Vocal EQ, and on-device M4A voice recording. It is intended for creative, practice, and audio-monitoring use.

3. Intended setup

For the live monitor, the app is intended for use with wired headphones (3.5 mm jack or USB-C) and the phone microphone. Bluetooth headphones are not supported for live monitoring because their typical 150–300 ms latency is too high for real-time vocal feedback. The Record-only mode can be used without headphones. Actual latency, audio quality, and routing behavior can vary depending on the Android device, operating system, audio path, and connected accessories.

4. User responsibility

5. Recordings storage

Recordings are stored locally on the device in the app's private storage. Each recording is capped at 60 minutes. Total recordings storage is capped at roughly 100 MB; the oldest files are automatically deleted when the cap is reached. Recordings are removed when the app is uninstalled. The app does not provide a built-in cloud backup; if you want to keep a recording long-term, export it before uninstalling.

6. No guarantees of uninterrupted service

The app is provided on an as-available basis. Compatibility, latency, output level, and audio behavior may differ across devices, Android versions, headphone types, and system audio paths.

7. Feature changes

Features may be changed, improved, removed, or added in future versions of the app, including effects, presets, and supported languages.

8. Liability

To the maximum extent allowed by applicable law, the app owner is not responsible for losses resulting from device incompatibility, audio latency differences, routing limitations, lost recordings (including recordings rotated out by the 100 MB cap), or the inability to use the app on a particular device.
